This visualization showcases the top 100 used keywords from U.S. news articles ranging from 1891 to 2020. The bars are ordered by the highest to the lowest count of most used keywords and are color-coded by the category that the keyword is under as well (ex. if the keyword is a person, organization, geographic location, etc). The color legend is below the graph to label what color stands for which category it represents.

Interactivity

For interactivity, this graph supports a tooltip so when you hover on top of a bar it will display the name of the keyword and the total count of U.S. news articles that had that keyword to allow better viewing of the info.
