About Visualization

This visualization showcases the trend of a keyword that is inputted in the search bar from U.S. news article ranging from 1891 up to 2020, as your free to lower/increase the scope of years to see based on your interest. This chart allows you to see the change in the number of articles that the searched keyword appeared in as the year progresses. So feel free to mess around with it and see if you can find any trends or any interesting finds.

Interactivity

For interactivity, this graph supports a tooltip so when you hover on top of a dot it will display the total count of U.S. news articles that had that keyword appear for that year (if the count is zero; no dot will display for that year). Another tool is the range slider which sets the range of the starting point year for the graph to start displaying from and the endpoint year to stop at. So you can set it up to see up to two years minimum (ex. 1981-1982) or maximally you can see all the years (ex. 1981-2020) or you can have different time scopes for instance like 3 years, 5 years, 10 years, etc; you're free to set the range of years your interested in.
